Feature
Let them book you without the back and forth
Most scheduling tools show a calendar and stop there, which is fine if every job is the same length. It never is. A booking page has to know that a bigger property is a longer shoot and a further postcode is an hour of driving, or the times it offers are a promise you cannot keep.
Priced by what they are actually asking for
Set price bands against a question of your own - property size, number of rooms, word count - and the band decides both what it costs and how long it takes. Add optional extras and they add to both as well.
- Bands like 'up to 1,200', 'up to 2,500' and 'above that'
- Extras with their own price and their own minutes on site
- A running total the client watches change as they choose
Times that fit the job, not the average job
The slot grid is built from what they picked. Choose the biggest band and two extras and the page stops offering the short gaps, because that work no longer fits in them. It is the difference between a diary that holds and a diary that overruns from ten in the morning.
- Buffers before and after, so nothing is back to back by accident
- Least notice and how far ahead people may book, both yours to set
- Clock changes handled properly, so nothing is an hour out in summer
Travel priced by postcode
Name the postcodes you cover and what each area costs. The fee lands on their total and the drive time is held clear either side of the appointment - the client is not attending the journey, but your afternoon is.
A deposit, if you want one
Switch on a percentage or a flat amount and it is taken by card the moment they book, on your own Stripe account, with the balance settled the usual way. The slot is held while they pay and released on its own if they walk away. Off unless you turn it on.
Nothing to sign up for, nothing to double-book
Your client picks a time and leaves their details - no account, no app. Two people submitting the same slot at the same moment is resolved in the database rather than left to luck, so one of them gets it and the other is told at once.
- A calendar invite that adds itself, and withdraws itself if cancelled
- A private link so they can cancel without phoning you
- Embeddable in your own website, or shared as a link
